Boiling Point: The Importance of Combustion Tuning

Posted by Ritchie Ware on Apr 6, 2016 2:56:33 PM

WARE Louisville KY Boiling Point Combustion TuningToday on the Boiling Point, Jude Wolf, Boiler University instructor, discusses the importance of efficiency and combustion tuning.

Having the right amount of oxygen and fuel creates the best flame possible. With an efficient flame, you are able to transfer the most amount of BTUs into the water per cubic foot of fuel. A better flame means more fuel savings. Jude shows us a few examples to demonstrate the importance of combustion tuning.

Here are some additional items reviewed in this video:

  • Impact of low efficiency
  • Example of a lean flame
  • Example of an optimal flame
  • Impact of an oxygen-lean environment
  • Impact of soot on boiling rate
