Today on The Boiling Point, Ritchie talks with WARE's boiler service technician Steve Duvall about the emergency stop in a steam boiler room.
These switches are designed to stop the boiler when things become out of control. They can help stop developing problems from becoming catastrophes.
Boiler operations would use the e-stop button if the boiler was acting or sounding out of the norm. Because the button is located on the outside of the trailer or boiler room, the e-stop button enables you to shut the boiler down without entering the room. It's important to note that when the e-stop button is engaged, the boiler will shut down, but the pumps will still run.
