hydro testing a boiler

Today on the Boiling Point, Ritchie talks with Steven Taylor about hydro testing a steam boiler.

Most inspectors want to see the hydro on any rental boiler or new boiler that comes in or after a boiler has had major pressure vessel work. When hydro testing a boiler, the pressure in the pressure vessel is pumped up to MAWP (Maximum Allowable Working Pressure.

It is very important to have proper seals on your tubes, flanges, connections, etc. and hydro testing a boiler is one way of doing this. Bringing it up to pressure in this controlled test is a safe way to check that your boiler is ready to be fired and put into production.

Be sure to watch the video for more information on hydro testing a boiler.
