Do you enjoy the feel of carpet between your toes? Well, you can thank steam for helping make carpet!

On this episode of Steam Culture, Brent talks about how carpets are manufactured with the help of steam.

We have learned over the many episodes that steam can help bond materials together by using pressure and heat. Both of these properties of steam are used in the creation of carpet.

Taking it one step further the color of the carpet is set using steam as well. This is accomplished by using a process called Heat Setting, carpet fibers become locked together increasing its durability. From there steam is used to help dye the carpet and give it a lasting color.

Watch the entire video now to learn more about carpet manufacturing and the important role that steam plays.
