What do vulcanization, treads, and steam all have in common?
The more that we research the more applications for steam that we are learning about! Tires are just another example of an application where steam plays a big role. Green tires are placed into a mold and steam is injected at 300 degrees, the green tire then becomes pliable enough to take on the shape of the mold for the tire tread.
Watch our latest edition of Steam Culture to learn more about the tire making process and how Charles Goodyear played a pivotal role in the creation of the materials used in tires!
