On this episode of The Boiling Point, Ritchie Ware and Mike Taylor discuss an important regulation recently put into place by the NFPA and UL.

Knowing what to do in the event of a power failure and how it relates to your boiler is extremely important. Many boiler rooms are set for automatic restart after a power failure but this is not out of code. If your boiler doesn't have a manual reset option on the panel this is a feature that should be installed. The UL and NFPA, have set specific standards for various boiler situations, including the procedure for manual restart after a power failure. It is important to note that while some boilers will restart automatically after a power failure, a manual reset is still required per the UL and NFPA codes.

As Mike points out, while there doesn't seem to be a specific reason behind the manual reset, it is still a standard that will need to be upheld. At WARE, we are pleased to be able to provide information to help your company stay in compliance.

Watch this episode of the boiling point to find out what these standards will mean for you and your business.
