Today, we continue our series with Brent's dentist Travis by talking about things that we use everyday that require steam. Today they discuss sterilizing instruments in the dentist office.
We have been using boiling water to sterilize things since the beginning of time. In fact, during the Romans' era, Hippocrates was soaking his instruments in boiling water before he operated on the gladiators— and then all the way up into modern times in the eighteen hundreds when a guy by the name of Charles Chamberland invented the steam autoclave.
