What was your favorite construction tool growing up? Well, we all know Brent loves all things steam, and his passion overflows into construction equipment.
On this episode of Steam Culture, we are checking out the steam roller. The steam roller first came onto the scene in the 1860s and quickly went into mass production due to expansion of the highway system. Before the steam roller, we were flattening dirt and preparing roadways by using metal drums pulled by horses and oxen. Eventually, the steam roller was replaced by the diesel powered roller in the 1950s.
