Did you know that you can use boilers to put out fires? Today on Steam Culture, Brent visits the Vintage Fire Museum in Jeffersonville, IN and learns about the Steamer, which uses fire to fight fire.
During our trip to the Vintage Fire Museum, we're joined by Curt Peters, the board chair at the museum. He's here to explain exactly how the steam pumper fire engine was used. Watch the video below for an example of how an 1875 Steamer would be used by fire departments to fight fires. Boilers could help pump the steam at a much higher rate than a hand-powered pump, which would help fight fires at a faster rate.
