Inside Con Edison’s Manhattan Steam System

Today, Brent takes a look into Con Edison which is one of the largest investor-owned energy companies in the United States, servicing Manhattan.

In 2007, there was a steam explosion in Midtown Manhattan which sent up a geyser of hot steam about 40 feet in the air. Brent discusses the failure of a 83-year-old, 24-inch underground steam pipe near Grand Central Terminal which caused the explosion during the evening rush hour.
