Steam Rollers: Machines That Built Modern Roads

What was your favorite construction tool growing up? Well, we all know Brent loves all things steam, and his passion overflows into construction equipment.

Today, we are checking out the steam roller. The steam roller first came on to the scene in the 1860's and quickly went into mass production due to expansion of the highway system.

Before the steam roller, we were flattening dirt and preparing roadways by using metal drums pulled by horses and oxen.
