Steam Wood Kiln Drying Process Part 2

Here we are for this week's Steam Culture! Thanks for tuning in to part 2 of the Steam Wood Kiln episode. We are back with Tom Thompson at Salem Lumber. Today, he will walk us through the final processes of the lumber drying operation.

Without the steam wood kiln, wood could take up to 2-3 months to completely dry out, with the steam and coils the drying process only takes about 72 hours. After the drying, the wood goes into a building to be arranged and packaged to be shipped.
