The first self propelled bike wasn't powered by gas...it was powered by steam!! Today Brent will tell you the story of inventor Sylvester Roper and how he used steam in the 1860's to create the first self-propelled bike.

This episode has several interesting historical facts including how Roper attached the boiler to the bike (also known then as a velocipede), what pressure it ran at and how he ultimately died while riding his MOTOcycle.
