Restoring Hot Water to 100+ Residents in Less Than 24 Hours

When a Washington, DC property management firm experienced a total failure of its hot water system in a residential property, WARE responded with a mobile hot water boiler and had temporary hot water service up and running in 24 hours.

The Subject

A Washington, DC property management firm currently manages a high-rise building with more than 100 units in it. The building’s entire hot water system failed completely, leaving residents without access to hot water.

The Ask:

The property management firm needed hot water, right away. Furthermore, because this was a residential unit, the water needed to be clean and potable so that residents could use it for bathing, washing clothes, washing dishes, and other hot water needs.

The Solution

The property management firm needed a mobile hot water. The property firm reached out to our partners ACI, who in turn communicated with WARE. We responded with one of the units from its recently upgraded fleet of efficient, reliable hot water boilers. They’re easily transported, easy to hook up, and provide a substantial amount of clean, potable hot water for residential use.

The Challenge

Time was the most limiting factor. Since the building’s original water system had failed completely and all at once, residents were left with no options for obtaining hot water. The longer it took to restore service, the longer they’d be without the hot water they needed for crucial tasks in their daily lives like laundry, hot showers, and washing dishes.

How WARE Solved It

When WARE got the call, the rental team got right on the job. Using their expertise and technical knowledge, they determined the correct unit needed to service the building, the connections and ancillary equipment that would be needed, and they got it all on the road to Washington, DC within a few hours. Less than 24 hours after the initial call came in, the unit made the trip from Louisville, Kentucky to Washington DC, and the building was fully supplied with temporary hot water from a WARE 7mmbtu Dryair mobile hot water boiler. Thanks to WARE, the residents could get on with their lives.
