How Steam Launches Aircraft From Carriers

Today on Steam Culture, Brent talks about the steam system that is used to launch jet fighters off of aircraft carriers.

The runway for the aircraft carrier is only about 300 feet, while a typical runway is 2000+ feet. In order to generate enough power to launch the aircraft, steam is used in the catapult to safely propel these very heavy birds into the air.
