Why Rental Boilers Use Propane Pilot Systems

In this episode, Ritchie talks with our long time employee Ray Barmore about propane and how it is essential to starting a rental boiler when using Number 2 Fuel Oil.

Typically, you do not need a separate fuel source pilot for natural gas, but because we are burning #2 fuel oil, in this instance we do. The reason for this is because these burners require either a natural gas or propane pilot to light the main flame.
