How Water Causes Rust in Boilers and How to Prevent It

On this episode of Steam Culture, Brent discusses water and metal and the effect that one has on the other.

We all know that water is sustaining to human and animal life, but not so much for metal. Given time, when water comes into contact with metal, rust will take over. One way to reduce growth of rust on metal is to raise the water's temperature and place it under pressure. Brent's favorite way to do this would be in a pressure vessel like a steam boiler!
