What Is the Crossness Pumping Station?
Today on Steam Culture, Brent talks about the Crossness Pumping Station and how it helped the sewer system in mid 1800s London. This station was powered by an incredibly large beam engine that was running off of steam. To generate enough steam, they needed 12 boilers using a new design called the cornish boiler which was a circle design.
